Introduction
If you are using LaTeX to write Sandia National Laboratories
technical reports (SAND Reports), then this page might be of
interest to you. I have written a LaTeX class file that should make
the process easier. The class file will help you format your report
according to the guidelines in Guide to Preparing SAND Reports
and Other Communication Products, Version 2.0, SAND2005-7191.
It will also help you remember what elements are necessary, such as
a SAND Report number, and place these elements at the appropriate
places. The class file produces the necessary cover and disclaimer
page, and helps creating the mandatory distribution list.
Note that this is nothing official. I did it for myself and
thought I'd share it. It may be suitable for SANDreport submissions,
but I can't give any guarantees. Also, I'm not a TeX/LaTeX expert;
feel free to help me when you see things I'm doing wrong or awkwardly.
Please, send bug fixes and suggestions for

Template
The file below is a template that you can fill in to
create your SAND report.

Examples
If you would like to see what the end result looks like, check out
the following PDF files. There are four ways to create SAND reports
using this class file. One option is to follow the guidelines very
strictly, which makes the documents look a little bit like an MS Word
document. If you don't use that option, the result has more of
a LaTeX flavor.
You can choose whether the SAND report class should use the
LaTeX article class as a base or the report class. The main
difference is that the latter lets you use chapters and you can
avoid those subsubsub sections.
With these two options we have four possible outcomes. Here
is the same silly example in all four variations:
Article class strict. with OUO example.
(The LaTeX file is
here.)
Article class not strict.
This one uses jpg logos and pictures.
(The LaTeX file is
here.)
Report class strict. with reprint example

Report class not strict.

SANDmath.tex
For a real-world example, check out Philippe Pébay's
SAND report SAND2004-3894.pdf.
SANDmath.tex is a great
helper to typeset formulas and proofs in SAND reports.
Please, contact Philippe directly with questions about or suggestions
for the SANDmath package:

SAND Memo
Rich Field contributed a class file that was originally written in 1520
several years ago. It allows the easy creation of Sandia memos. The necessary
files are included in the SAND Report tar ball. Some more information is
available here.
And example of a (very long) memo is available.
The generated PDF file.

here.)
