Brief Abstract: In this talk we discuss the implementation of flux corrected transport (FCT) algorithms on overlapping grids. Results obtained by the straightforward extension of classical FCT type algorithms are compared to other schemes including a high-resolution Godunov method. Modifications to the FCT algorithm are then presented and their impact on the solution is  discussed. Finally the new algorithms are applied to a number of  Verification problems, well characterized prototype problems, and an Euler  system model for a prototype z-pinch magnetic implosion.
