Title: Quantification of Margins and Uncertainties as Practiced in Sandia's Advanced Simulation and Computing Program  (Software Engineering Seminar Series)

Speaker: Tony Giunta, Sandia National Laboratories

Date/Time: Tuesday, April 22, 2008, 11:30 am.  Talk starts at 12:00 pm

Location: CSRI Building, Room 90 (Sandia NM)

Brief Abstract: This briefing provides an overview of quantification of margins and uncertainties (QMU) methods that have developed under the auspices of Sandia's Advanced Simulation and Computing program. These QMU methods leverage Sandia's ~10 years of work in theory and practice of computer model verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification. This briefing will cover some of the basic mathematical and statistical concepts that underpin QMU, and will show some example of how QMU is applied in Sandia's engineering applications.
