Title: Gaskinetic approach to fluid dynamics and CFD simulations in the NASA Constellation program

Speaker: Johannes Kerimo, Texas A&M University, NASA-Virginia

Date/Time: September 8, 2009 at 9:00 – 10:00am

Location: CSRI Building, Room 90 (Sandia NM)

Brief Abstract: In this talk I will treat two disparate topics. In the first part I will discuss a successful gaskinetic approach to continuum fluid dynamics. We will see how to use the gaskinetic method to give improved results over the Navier-Stokes equations.  In the second part we will try to get familiar with NASA approach to use CFD to support the development of new launch vehicles.
