Brief Abstract: Are GPUs really the "next big thing" for MP programming? In the past year hundreds of universities have added GPU programming to the curriculum. The #2 machine on the TOP500 list uses GPUs to achieve it's ranking. But does this really add up to a new approach to computing? In this talk I'll give an overview of GPU architecture, introduce the programming model, and conclude with results from early applications.
