Daniel S. Katz is
currently a Principal Member of the Information Systems and Computer
Sciences staff at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL),
California Institute of Technology. In May 2006, he will be joining
Louisiana State University (LSU) as Assistant Director for Scientific
Computing Systems and Software at the Center for Computation & Technology
(CCT) and Associate Research Professor in the Electrical and Computer
Engineering Department, while retaining his JPL-affiliation. His research
interests include: numerical methods, algorithms, and programming applied
to supercomputing, parallel computing, cluster computing, and embedded
computing; and fault-tolerant computing. He received his B.S., M.S.,
and Ph.D degrees in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University,
Evanston, Illinois, in 1988, 1990, and 1994, respectively. He is a
senior member of the IEEE, and enjoys public service within the HPC
community.
