Each test performed is a file-per-process test where each file is a 2 stripe file (utilizing 2 OST's). In this test OST's are allocated such that one OST per OSS is used up to the maximum amount of OSS's (28). Once the maximum number of OST's is reached the as yet unused OST's on each of the 28 OSS's will be allocated. Once the maximum number of OST's is reached, OST's will be oversubscribed in the original allocation order.
This test will show both how the file-system responds to the case where the number of compute nodes is less than the number of OST's, and how the file-system responds when the number of compute nodes exceeds the number of OST's.
