Doug Doerfler has been with Sandia
National Laboratories for 18 years. He initially joined the Safeguards and Security
Department and led a team in the development of a high performance perimeter
security system for the Air Force. This system was deployed in several sites
around the world. He then joined the Advanced Systems Department where he led
a team that developed real-time automatic target recognition systems. These
systems were deployed in a variety of airborne applications, including demonstrations
in the Air Force's Joint STARS aircraft. Doug's most recent work has been in
developing test and integration processes for Sandia's high performance computing
systems, primarily for the Cplant program. He is presently manager of the Scalable
Systems Integration Department.
