Jim Harrell joined Cray Research in 1981 and worked on system software on a succession of vector and mpp machines. In 1997 SGI moved Mr. Harrell to Origin Systems where he led the development of Irix for 128, 256, and 512 processor systems. Since 2001 Mr. Harrell has worked at Unlimited Scale producing scalable system software.
