Rod Oldehoeft earned the Ph.D. in Computer
Science at Purdue University, joining the Mathematics Department at Arizona State
University, and then moving to the Computer Science Department at Colorado State
University. He led the department as chair for six years. After a sabbatical leave
at Tera Computer Company (now Cray, Inc.), he was a program manager with the Office
of Advanced Scientific Computing Research (OASCR) in the DOE Office of Science.
He then joined the Advanced Computing Lab at LANL as senior computer scientist
and then deputy director, and served as acting director of the ACL for two years.
His current duties include contributing to the High-Performance Linux project,
interfacing LANL computer science with OASCR/SC/DOE, contributing to the ASCI
Los Alamos Computer Science Institute, handling intellectual property projects,
and maintaining various academic relationships.
