David Womble is currently the manager
of the Computer Science Research Institute (CSRI) and the Applied Mathematics
Department at Sandia National Laboratories. He earned a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics
and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1986. His general research
interests are in the area of numerical algorithms for modeling and simulation
and parallel computing. Specific research interests include the solution of large
linear systems of equations, multilevel methods, parallel I/O, and seismic imaging.
