Global Climate Change

Our multidisciplinary effort is developing a suite of computational tools to understand the emergence of unforeseen sociopolitical thresholds (i.e. “tipping points”) caused by environmental stresses, especially those associated with abrupt or gradual climate change. This project brings together several disparate areas of Sandia expertise—including agent-based modeling, evolutionary computing, general circulation modeling, economic modeling, and social modeling.
