The bebopd

When a bebopd terminates in an orderly fashion, it writes a file listing the active PCTs at the time of it's demise. The file it writes to is named by the environment variable BEBOPD_RESTART_FILE (or it's site file equivalent) and defaults to (/tmp/saved_pct_list).

The bebopd may be restarted with the -r option:

bebopd -r {optional-file-name}

The bebopd will look for /etc/local/saved_pct_list (or the file named by the BEBOPD_RESTART_FILE variable) and send status requests to all PCTs listed there. The bebopd will set the next job ID to an ID greater than that of the jobs that were running when the bebopd last terminated.

The -r option of bebopd takes an optional file name argument. bebopd will look in this file rather than it's default for a list of PCTs to contact.

Again, bebopd must be run as user root.
