Interfaces

The bebopd accepts message from PCTs , yod processes, and pingd processes. It also responds to SIGUSR1, SIGUSR2 and SIGHUP. The SIGUSR responses are left over from the early days when there was no pingd interface to bebopd.

There is under development now a new interface so that libraries linked with application codes can contact the bebopd. These library calls are intended to support MPI-2 dynamic process creation and will return information about the PBS queues and running jobs. These calls will be described in a separate manual.

The bebopd reads the site file (see chapter 11) for configuration information.

At the present time, the bebopd only communicates with clients that send and receive messages over the Portals interface.
