I will discuss applications of hybrid DFT to systems containing transition metal and actinide elements. Examples include studies of reaction mechanisms in homogeneous catalysis, bond energies in actinide complexes, TDDFT studies of excited states in organometallic complexes, and magnetic and optical properties in traditionally problematic Mott insulators such as NiO and UO2.
