PROJECT SCOPE:
Sandia National Laboratories will assist various Sponsors by performing work using VxInsight^TM, a data mining and knowledge management tool that uncovers implicit relationships within large databases, and allows the analyst to explore these relationships with a 3D, graphical, user interface. The Sponsor will provide the database and any special computing needs required to access their database. Sandians will operate VxInsight^TM and jointly with the customer explore appropriate grouping functions for hte particular databases. Reports and demonstrations to the Sponsor will be produced as required.

TECHNICAL CONTENT:
Work Element One:
Sandia National Laboratories will input the database onto computing equipment, specify an appropriate similarity function and preform an ordination for the database in formats required by VxInsight^TM. Based on the success of the various similarity functions, Sandia National Laboratories will perform a preliminary analysis with or for the Sponsor, followed by more detailed studies if required. Appropriate analysis techniques will be documented and demonstrated to Sponsor contacts as appropriate. If required, Sandia National Laboratories will install a functional version of VxInsight^TM (following appropriate licensing) on Sponsor's equipment and provide limited training in its use.

II. DELIVERABLES:

The deliverables will consist of:

1. The output from VxInsight^TM -- specifically, 3D images of database relationships generated by VxInsight^TM, documentation and/or videotape of the required analysis.
2. A Sponsor demonstration at Sandia National Laboratories locations unless negotiated otherwise.
3. Minimal training for using appropriately licensed VxInsight^TM software on Sponsor supplied computers, if required.
