Scalable System Software - Power/Energy R&D

Addressing anticipated HPC computational needs within reasonable power constraints requires significant advances in hardware power efficiency. To achieve the greatest efficiency from next-generation hardware at scale, software at many levels will need to coordinate and optimize the underlying hardware. Researchers in the Scalable System Software department are working closely with colleagues in the Scalable Architectures Department as well as external collaborators on approaches to increase energy efficiency and address the power constraints of next-generation large-scale high-performance computing systems.
