I am a Principal Member of Technical Staff in the Applied Mathematics and Applications department, which is in the
Computational Sciences,
Computer Sciences,
and Mathematics Center. My area of research is in large scale PDE constrained optimzation.
These techniques are applicable to design, inversion, and control problems with very large
state and design spaces, which usually become intractable for black box type optimization methods.
Courses recently taught

UNM CS 491/591 -5 Numerical Optimization (Fall 2006)
