Marmousi Model and Image

The Marmousi model is a 2D prestack synthetic data set which is useful in determining an algorithms ability to produce prestack images. To the right are images of the velocity model and the migrated image produced by Salvo. A total of 240 shots were migrated and stacked. Each shot took approximately 37 seconds to migrate for a total of 145 minutes. One I/O node and 128 compute nodes were used for the migration.

The frequency range migrated was 0-62.5 Hz for a total of 256 frequencies. The grid spacing was dx=25m and dz=4m for a total of 369x751 grid points. The quality of the image is very good, and suggests the migration algorithm is performing well and correctly handles the velocity variations in the Marmousi model.
