The journal Parallel Computing will be publishing a special issue on Parallel I/O during the fall of 1996. Topics of interest include but are not limited to
In addition to the research papers, the special issue on parallel I/O will contain a "roundtable" discussion of issues in parallel I/O to which authors of accepted papers will be invited to contribute. The roundtable will be conducted electronically after authors are notified of acceptance.
Research papers must contain work not published and not submitted elsewhere. All papers will be refereed according to the standard process of Parallel Computing. It is anticipated that the special issue on parallel I/O will contain between eight and ten papers (the special issue is expected to be between 150 and 200 pages in length), although this can be adjusted depending on the number and quality of papers submitted.
The deadline for submission of papers is May 17, 1996. Papers may be submitted electronically in postscript format or by surface mail. Electronic submissions should be sent dewombl@cs.sandia.gov. Three copies of hardcopy submissions should be mailed to
